Urban Art Orchestra
*CORRECTION - Blaque Dynamite will not be appearing with Urban Art Orchestra in this instance. Apologies for any disappointment*
After turning up the heat in Café Tullie earlier in the year, Urban Art Orchestra are once again making the journey from Detroit to Carlisle for another intimate show this October.
The Orchestra fuses jazz, funk, hip hop and raw Motor City soul. Led by Grammy-nominated saxophonist and composer De'Sean Jones who, as well as his exploits in the world of jazz, is a member of legendary Detroit electronic music collective Underground Resistance.
Joining De'Sean in the Orchestra this time will be:
- Mikele Montolli - London-based Italian double-bassist and composer. Montolli ha performed live and recorded with artists such as Sun Ra Arkestra with Knoel Scott and Marshall Allen, top UK Jazz singers Julie Dexter and Heidi Vogel, LA-based legendary saxophonist–big band arranger Don Menza and many more.
- Tjoe Man Cheung - a session guitarist in his native Hong Kong, he moved to London in 2020 and has since been active in the London jazz scene, leading fusion ensemble NTBM (not-to-be-missed).
- Plus more to be announced.
Expect world-class musicianship, infectious grooves and a truly original sonic experience.
Brought to Tullie by Live at Union Lane.
Tickets: £20 | Bar will be open for refreshments
