The Art of Place: Painting Carlisle, Cumberland and the Lake District with local artist Martin Evans
Take inspiration from the Picturing Place exhibition at Tullie and work with Carlisle artist Martin Evans to paint a contemporary Cumbrian landscape in acrylic. The workshop will involve exercises and tuition based around Martin's signature loose and expressive style. Reference images will be provided, although you're welcome to bring your own.
All materials are included, including a canvas, paper, brushes and acrylic paints. Participants are welcome to bring their own materials if they prefer, but everything needed for the workshop will be provided.

Schedule for the day as followed:
10.30 - 11.00 Intro and visit to the picturing place exhibition to look at some key pieces for inspiration
11.00 - 13.00 Exercises based around colour, composition & style
13.00 - 14.00 Lunch and access to the exhibition.
14.00 - 16.00 Work on a finished canvas that will be theirs to keep. (Tidy up 15.45)
