Left in the capable hands of professional textile artist, Helen Walsh, learn some new techniques each month. We’ll also be selecting an ‘Object of the Month’ from our textiles collection for you to get a closer look at, with a chance for discussion with other textile enthusiasts.
Tullie Textiles is held in the City Hall Studio on the second Sunday of the month.

Sunday 8th February 2026: Blackwork Embroidery: Learn about some of the stitches used in blackwork embroidery and have a go yourself.
Sunday 8th March 2026: Reverse Applique: This time we’re experimenting with layering patterned and coloured material and cutting back layers to create designs.
Sunday 12th April 2026: Assisi Cross Stitch: Learn about the Assisi cross stitch technique and have a go at stitching a little bunny!
Sunday 10th May 2026: French Knitting: This month we're having a go at some French Knitting, you may have done this as a child so expect some nostalgia!
Sunday 14th June 2026: Silk Paper: Try a quick and easy way of making silk paper, is it a paper or is it a textile?
