Lunchtime Talks
From February to November, on the first Tuesday of every month, we will be joined by a special guest speaker sharing insight and knowledge into a variety of subjects.
All talks are free to attend and take place in our Lecture Theatre
Booking is not essential. Turning up on the day is acceptable
Tuesday 4th October - 1pm
Marilyn Parkes-Seddon - "Seeking the Scallop Shell " - a Pilgrimage.
Marilyn's talk will focus on the background to and subsequent journeys to 22 places of pilgrimage across the UK, including Cumbria, NE England and lowland Scotland among many others. These pilgrimages took almost 3 years to complete. The talk will include not only descriptions of places visited but also history and culture of pilgrimage.

Martin Evans - Journey of a self-taught artist
Martin will tell the story of how he was stuck in a retail job and decided to give this up in favour of a life as a professional artist. He will discuss the journey so far and talk about the influences on his work.
