Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery Trust Ticket Portal

Art Group

If you’re aged 18 or over, we invite you join us for a laid-back art session and opportunity to meet like-minded people under the guidance of an experienced artist.

Each session has a guest artist and theme, but you’re equally welcome to join us and work on your own project.

We welcome people of all abilities and support workers, and we provide hands-on help if needed.

We provide basic materials, but please bring your own if you need something specific.

Art Group is the third Wednesday of the month, please arrive no earlier than 10am for the morning sessions and 1pm for the afternoon (please note, the afternoon session will be a repeat of the morning session).

The space is fully wheelchair accessible, with accessible toilet facilities.

While the museum is being improved, we will be using the Prism Arts studio (Methodist Hall building, 5 Market St. close to the corner where the street meets Fisher St). Please note, there is no car parking available at the venue.

If you require more information, please email community@tulliehouse.org to talk to our art group organisers at the sessions.

Upcoming sessions:

  • 17 April – Guest artist will be Bamba Gaye – an artist from Senegal who creates multi-media artwork inspired by West African mask making techniques. Come along if you like the idea of 3D collage and fabric painting.
  • 15 May – Guest artist will be Martin Evans who is a painter and mural artist famous for his beautiful and energetic landscape paintings. We’ll be exploring both controlled and messy painting techniques, so please wear old clothes for this one.
  • 19 June – Guest artist will be Vega Brennan who is a well known expert print-maker. She’ll be introducing a range of printing techniques for you to try out – with additional inspiration from foraged plants and textures from nature.
